This Investor Carrot Review for real estate investors will break down all the pros and cons of the software and help you decide if the cost is worth the benefits before purchasing.
We’ve tested this website out multiple times starting back in 2017/18, again in 2020, and now in 2024. The way this review got started was because we enjoyed the software and wrote a review on the things we used. As time went on we and our businesses grew we no longer use Carrot, but keep updating this article because of our affinity for the product. So everything in here is based on actual experience with the platform.
We started with Investor Carrot because there was a need for more off-market leads. Adding a website is an obvious starting point for any business, which eventually led us to InvestorCarrot.
You may be one of those who have toyed with generating leads online or starting a wholesaling business, but procrastinate because you’re afraid of the risk or can’t figure out the process. You may have procrastinated for months or even years.

OnCarrot Review – Theme Choices
An important part of any review, especially a review of Investor Carrot, needs to include a breakdown of the various theme options.
They have several quality themes to choose from that are highly optimized to generate leads. Additionally, they are constantly testing and optimizing their theme and the products they provide you to make sure you have great themes to choose from.
The great part about these choices is you’ll be able to find something that is on-brand for you. There are few enough options to make it easy to choose, yet enough options to differentiate yourself in your market.
Leads Management
When you log in you’ll be treated with your dashboard which has a section for all visitors and leads you’ve received recently. It’s easy to navigate to the leads and sort through your leads in each step of your funnel from here.
When someone fills out one of your lead forms, the system will capture it and add it to your leads management tab. They will also be sent to a longer form with more information to add to the form. But don’t worry, even if they skip this you still have their contact information.
When you get a lead it will show up in your “leads” tab which lets you sort through them and move them through your CRM to various categories from “follow-up” to Won/Dead.
Investor Carrot offers campaign tracking which creates unique URLs for each campaign so you can track how each advertising campaign is performing. It also provides plenty of statistics so you know what pages are doing well.
Well, that’s what campaign tracking with Investor Carrot does for you.
Also, they have a lead management system that lets you move your leads through your pipeline.
In the example above, it is my new onCarrot experiment where I’m taking a brand new site and going to try to rank it to #1 on Google for a number of search results. You can see my experiment about real estate wholesaling websites here.
This is great because most lead management systems cost extra money. This is built right into Investor Carrot
Content Marketing
We talk a lot about content marketing for real estate investors here. It takes a lot of work but Carrot does have a lot of samples and templates to follow that do work in local markets. So definitely use their content to start then build off that.
When you are ready to level up to better content market I recommend our article about how to create content like a pro. The idea is to start with what they give you, then really build on it. I do like that they also have a number of guides to use to help you get started.
That being said, you can upgrade to their top-tier service and get better articles.
Still, everyone who pays has access to exactly the same articles, so I’d focus on taking their topics and crafting your own content around those subjects.
Keyword Tracking
This is a pretty cool feature. Simply input the keywords you are tracking, like “sell your house fast now in Dallas” and it will give you weekly rank updates. It pulls this data from Google Analytics so you will have to get that set up (it’s free). But, once you do that, it’s easy enough to compile the data and review it.
This website tracks thousands of keywords and it’s essential to the growth of this website. Your niche website will only have a couple dozen keywords to track, so it won’t be as daunting. This will become important for your niche lead-generation website.
They Have Great Training as Well
Investor Carrot has a ton of great training to help you grow your investor website. Here is a small list of what they can help teach you
…and the list keeps going on.
That’s one thing Investor Carrot is awesome about – the ongoing training for their members.
Investor Carrot Review of Pricing
There are currently 4 pricing plans with Carrot. If you’re just getting started you might choose the most basic option, but here are the 4:
Most likely you’ll want to pick the “done a few deals” option as this has the best content creation options. The AI rewrite tool as well as the video posts will save you a ton of time and help you with the Google search algorithm.
Review of Carrot Hosting
At its core, Carrot.com (aka Investor Carrot) is a managed WordPress hosting where they set up your website with the core features, and you control the information on those pages.
This is both good and bad.
It’s good because it’s super easy for the user. You don’t have to worry about upgrading the software, making sure the various plugins and core software are updated, or making sure the various plugins don’t conflict with each other.
You can just focus on your content and promotion.
The negatives are just the flip side of the coin. You cannot change your theme, plugins, etc.
You are stuck with the service that is provided, and if you don’t like it then you need to go somewhere else and set up there.
Investor Carrot is perfect for people who just want something that works. If you are going to focus on creating your content and growing your audience, get Investor Carrot.
If you want unique features for some specific niche function, then Investor Carrot is not for you.
Getting Set Up On Investor Carrot
Once you sign up and enter your billing information there will be a few questions it asks you to help point you in the right direction. Once you get through those few questions, you’ll get to a page to choose what type of website you want to build:
We picked the option to attract motivated house sellers, which is the foundation of a wholesaling business. When you finish setting up the site you’ll eventually get to your dashboard which looks like this.
You’ll want to start by clicking on the “checklist” option and following their steps. They provide many more steps than what is shown here:
What’s good about this is you won’t be staring at a website with 100 options and absolutely no direction or idea of what to do next. The Investor Carrot checklist makes it pretty easy to diligently work your way through every item until it’s complete.
Now it’s time to customize your site.
Creating Your Brand on Investor Carrot
Changing your website branding on Carrot is very easy – click on the “Design” option on the left. You’ll be brought to this screen.
From here you can adjust your logos, color scheme, and most aspects of the website to make it on-brand and different than your competition.
The next part of this Investor Carrot Review is to create and edit some content.
Making Pages and Posts
There are two types of content – Pages and Posts. Pages are for content that is more static and unchanging while posts are more timely and informative. A “privacy policy” would be a page while “3 ways to avoid foreclosure in 2024” would be a post.
First, you’ll want to work through every pre-created ‘page’ to make the content entirely unique to you and your company/brand. This includes your home page, privacy page, etc.
When creating your new post you’ll be given the option for a standard post or video post. Investor Carrot offers video transcription services for a fee, which is a nice way to boost your article length and create SEO value. But for now, select “Standard Post”.
Another option is to click on “Content Library” and search for a content pack you’d like to add to your site. Each content pack is different can some of them include dozens of articles that can drip out for weeks.
Once you find a content pack, click the “add investor content pack” to your website and you can drip it out one article at a time. Weekly content is probably best. Then you’ll go to your posts and start editing them.
Optimizing Your Investor Carrot Content
Once you add your content pack, go to ‘posts’ and edit one of the articles. The content will look something like this:
These articles are a foundation for your content, they shouldn’t be published as they stand. You need to edit the sentences to avoid Google seeing duplicate content on the web. Also, you will want to increase the length of each article.
Content Nesting
Another important aspect of creating a post on your Investor Carrot motivated seller site is to make sure you nest the headings. When you click on a heading you’ll notice it gives you the option to make it an H2, H3, H4, etc.
It’s important you logically create your content and nest all the tags properly. For example, if you have 6 tips and then under each tip you give 2 or 3 pieces of advice, it could look something like this
- H2: 6 tips to cure it
- H3: Get Good Help
- H4: Find a Good Agent
- H4: Find someone to stage the property
- H3: Don’t Make To Many Improvements.
- H4: Kitchens usually cost more than they add in value
- H4: Choose finishes that match the neighborhood
Search Engine Optimization
There are a few tidbits you’ll want to remember as you build out your Investor Carrot SEO-optimized content. First, a good goal for each article is 1,000 words in length. As a beginner though, you can opt for 600-800 words. The key here is to always come back and edit the content as you get better at content creation.
You’ll also want to work through all the SEO options at the bottom of the page.
Make sure all posts get green checkmarks across all the SEO Settings tab.
Lastly, make sure all content has at least one image. Google dislikes content without an image in it.
Picking a Domain
You’ll want to pick a good domain name for your new Carrot site. It should say something about your business and hopefully include something about real estate or house selling in the URL. Something neutral, local, and respectable is great.
Try to avoid spammy or scammy sounding as you’ve probably seen ridiculous-looking sites that feel like they’re saying: sell-your-house-ridiculously-fast-and-cheap.com
No URL is that long, but that’s the message that’s conveyed when someone sees cheesy website URLs. No homeowner wants to sell to that guy.
Pointing The Domain Toward Investor Carrot
I’m not going to get super deep into this here. If you want a walkthrough you can check out the guide right here.
It’s really easy though and only takes about 3 minutes.
Investor Carrot Review FAQs
Do Investor Websites Work?
Here is a quick introduction video to Investor Carrot. I pulled this from their YouTube account, this isn’t my take on them. Just sharing this so you can get some background on them.
There are really 3 questions you need to ask yourself:
- Can I actually generate leads online?
- Is it really worth the price?
- Is it worth the time commitment?
Let’s quickly address each of these questions before getting further into the Investor Carrot Review.
Do Carrot Websites Generate Leads?
Yes, but…
If you think you make a website and leads pour in, then you got the idea wrong. It depends entirely on how good the website is and how well you promote it to people who need your services.
Think about putting up a billboard. If you put up an ugly sign on a small road in the middle of nowhere, chances are nobody will call you. But, if it’s a sharp-looking billboard on a busy road in an area where people really want your product, of course, a ton of people will be interested in it.
It’s no different with websites. You won’t get any leads if you have an ugly site, promote it poorly, and write terrible content.
On the other hand, you may get plenty of leads if you have a great-looking site, promote it well, and write great content.
Investor Carrot (you could also call this an OnCarrot Review, On Carrot, or just Carrot) provides great-looking websites to help eliminate that part of the problem. It is still up to you to promote it and edit the content templates they give you.
Is Investor Carrot a Waste of Time?
There is a bit of an up-front time commitment since you will have to edit the website, write some content, and promote it. You might be wondering if the time commitment to build a Carrot website is worth it.
Typically I’d do a Time Spent vs Benefit analysis to help me decide if I want to invest my time. First, we need to figure out how much one deal is worth to you.
This depends if you’re a wholesaler, flipper, or long-term investor. Typically out of all 3 groups, the wholesaler makes the least, so let’s use those numbers.
How much is one sale worth to you? Will you make $5,000? $10,000? That’s usually about right for a wholesaler with a single-family deal.
Even in the worst-case scenario if you spent an insanely large 100 hours on your website and it only ever found you 1 deal. Is the $50/hour worth it to you?
For most people – $50 an hour is worth it to build a Carrot website.
But websites live forever so the initial time investment is spent once, but the leads can come as long as the website is active.
It took me about 10 hours to get the website up and running with all the content it needed. I’m pretty quick at this so a normal person may spend 15-20 hours on the same carrot site I build in 10 hours. Honestly, I wouldn’t take the time to write this Investor Carrot review if it was going to take you 100+ hours to build.
Is Carrot Worth The Price for Investors?
The price something is worth is usually based on the value it creates for you.
If Carrot is something that is producing leads for you and you can convert those leads into sales, then as long as you’re pulling a profit well above the cost then it’s worth it.
If you’re not getting leads then it’s probably not going to be worth it. If you aren’t capable of converting those leads then it’s also not worth it.
Fortunately, Investor Carrot comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you’ll get a chance to play with it with no risk to you.
If you feel like you can push the site to where it needs to be to generate good leads, then keep it. If it’s too difficult, then you can always cancel it.
Should You Set Up A Carrot Website?
I’d still recommend having a website regardless if you use Carrot or not. The reason is if you have a direct mail campaign, people want to check a website to see if you’re legitimate or not.
But as for carrot, let’s break down the top 3 questions we mentioned before:
- Internet marketing DOES work if done right.
- Decent hosting costs $30-$40 per month. So, one site for $89 along with the ease of use and templates they provide is definitely a fair value.
- If you dedicate enough time to it, it’s not a waste because you’ll get results. If you give it a few hours and never look at it again, you’ll be wasting your time and money. It requires a little bit of dedication to see results.
A fourth thing that might be holding you back is the concern that it is too difficult to set up a website. That’s why I put together this guide on setting up hosting (both for OnCarrot and without them)
I was able to get my website to #1 on Google for my city in just 14 days. But you’ll likely need to spend 3-6 months and 2-3 hours per week growing your site unless you have prior experience.
So I think a better question to ask while reading this Carrot Review is not if the service is worth it, but if you will see it through for 3-6 months.
If you plan stay the course and put in the work, Keep Reading this OnCarrot Review.

REtipster.com
“When you create a new site, it already comes pre-populated with a generous amount of existing content, which not only makes the job easier for you (because you don’t have to make up a bunch of information yourself, you can simply edit what’s already there), but it also adds a lot of āSEO juiceā to your online space, making it easier for search engines to index your site and start sending organic traffic your way.
The only real downside I noticed with Investor Carrot is that it wasn’t quite as āidiot-proofā to set up a site as I thought it would be (though it’s still MUCH easier than working with a standalone WordPress website).”
StrugglingInvestor.com
“As I use a product over time itās a great sign when that product continues to evolve and get betterā¦and not charge you extra. Investor Carrot has been awesome in that regard. “
Alexzerbach.com
“If you go the free route with a basic WordPress website, you will still need to pay for hosting, and that could be as cheap as $10 a month. But you are in charge of security, backups, etc. Chances are you will buy a plugin or something and bring up the cost a bit. However, it will still be MUCH cheaper than Carrot. If you NEED a cheap website then donāt use Carrot.
But if you are taking your business seriously and have a budget to spend on a website, then go with the experts at Carrot because they focus on results more than if a website looks good.”
Agent Carrot Review
Carrot now offers a product very closely related to Investor Carrot and that is Agent Carrot.
Agent Carrot is a little different, but close enough that we’re including it in this Investor Carrot Review. Basically, you’ll get a nicely optimized site with all the features of Investor Carrot, but tailored to generating listings for your real estate agent business
What’s cool about it is that you can add MLS listings right into your Agent Carrot site for a small extra fee. So, you can have a classic-looking real estate agent site but also have the customization and lead generation of a Carrot site.
Oh, and all of their Agent Carrot subscriptions come with weekly coaching calls! That’s a pretty cool feature.
